Pineapple Pride
Thursday, May 6 2010-Port Southern is a new, up-and-coming men’s clothing brand based out of High Point, N.C. Founded by Steven Beck and Jeremy Hiatt, Port Southern launched its pineapple logo in 2008. The two southern gentlemen set out to achieve their dream of creating a fine men’s clothing line while embracing three important ideals: first, their pride for the South and their hometown, next, a desire to better their community and last, the hope of creating an elite clothing line of men’s essentials.
"Growing up, I was told to look my best, which is something that stuck with me and has always been important. Through Port Southern I am able to help others look their best and show pride for the South by providing high- quality traditional Southern clothing," Hiatt said.
While the company is still relatively new, the goal is to create the finest polo-style shirt on the men’s clothing market. More items, including women’s wear will join the line soon. The partners merchandize their products through college ambassadors that represent the company at select events throughout the state, including the steeplechase tailgate circuit.

Port Southern Teaches Kids About Business and About Southern Hospitality
High Point, N.C., January, 13- High Point University students Steven Beck and Jeremy Hiatt spoke to middle school students from Westchester Country Day School on Wednesday of last week.
The investment club, built of 20 middle school students from Westchester, invited the Port Southern Clothing Company to speak to them about the fundamentals of business. While speaking to the students, the Port Southern owners took advantage of the opportunity and also taught the group how to convey Southern hospitality.
Because Port Southern is founded around the slogan of “Fine Clothing With Southern Hospitality”, part of Port Southern’s mission is to spread Southern hospitality in many different forms. In order for this mission to be effective, the owners believe that they must first acquire followers who share the same passion for the South and the hospitality it is known for. “We hope that these young students look up to us, and that we can be a role model to them through Port Southern,” said Beck.
The owners of Port Southern hope to continue to make appearances throughout the area speaking to local groups about their fine clothing, but also speaking to them about the Southern hospitality they are so fond of.
